New York State Route 5 is a state highway that runs east and west for 371 miles across New York, from the Pennsylvania state line in Chautauqua County to Interstate 787 in Albany. Through most of the Finger Lakes Region, State Route 5 runs with US Route 20 and is known as Route 5 and 20. Routes 5 and 20 split in Auburn with Route 5 going north to Syracuse and US Route 20 staying south to run rurally until they meet at Albany.
