The LORAN-C Transmitter Seneca is a 700 foot radio tower located in the Seneca Army Depot between Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake. At 700 feet, it is the tallest structure in the Finger Lakes Region, even taller than any building in Rochester, Syracuse or Buffalo. However, it is not taller than the TV transmitter towers in Buffalo and Syracuse.
The LORAN tower has five red aircraft warning lights on it that can be seen from miles away at night. The top one and the second from the bottom one blink slowly. The other three stay on constantly.
