Hammondsport is a village in Steuben County, located at the south end of Keuka Lake. It is just North of the junction of Route 54 and Route 54A, and northeast of Bath. Route 54A passes through Hammondsport. Hammondsport was founded around 1827 and became a center for the New York wine industry. The Pleasant Valley Wine Company, founded in 1860 and located a mile southwest of Hammondsport, was designated U.S. Bonded Winery No.1 and has eight remarkable stone buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This winery along with many others make up Hammondsport's current wineries. Hammondsport is also home to numerous other wineries, such as Bully Hill Vineyards, Dr. Konstantin Frank, Heron Hill Winery, and Chateau Rennaissance Wine Cellars. Bully Hill Vineyards includes the Greyton H. Taylor Wine Museum.
