Lock on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal

A lock on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal

The Cayuga-Seneca Canal, formerly the Seneca River, is a man made waterway that connects the Erie Canal to Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake. It is about 20 miles long. The canal was formerly the Seneca River, which was dammed in three places where there were rapids. It has been a major part of the economy of Waterloo and Seneca Falls.
