Armory Square is a historic shopping and entertainment district on the west side of Downtown Syracuse. It is named after the Syracuse Armory. It was a booming area before World War II, then it declined in the post-war period of suburbanization. It was revitalized beginning in the 90s with new shops and restaurants. It is a historic district with much architecture dating from the late 19th century to the 1940s.
